What's the difference between Expected Move and Expected Move Plus?

Expected Move (EM): strategy primarily uses limit sell orders, placing these orders at predetermined target prices based on expected market highs. This creates a series of sell orders on the screen, all waiting to be filled as prices reach the set targets. This approach allows for consistent profit capture when prices move as predicted. The visible array of limit sell orders represents normal trading behavior, maintaining set profit targets without frequent adjustments.

Expected Move Plus (EM+): strategy enhances flexibility by incorporating LIFO (Last In, First Out) selling, which prioritizes the sale of the most recent purchases. This approach is especially useful in rapidly changing markets, as it allows for quicker adaptation to price fluctuations. EM+ may also use market sell orders instead of limit orders, enabling trades to execute immediately when prices reach favorable levels. This approach is designed to capture higher profits by responding swiftly to sudden price changes, aiming for more advantageous selling points.

Trading Behavior

If you're looking for instant results and a more dynamic trading experience, go with Expected Move. It can also help reduce holding onto coins for extended periods compared to the Plus strategy. However, testing suggests that Expected Move Plus may offer higher potential profits and can certainly lead to more "hero trades."

Trading Modes

  • Stochastic: A market buy is triggered when a custom Stoch Buy indicator hits a user-defined level. The selling price is calculated using the Average Buy Price plus a Stoch Profit Target %. A green indicator on the chart shows the sell level, but buy and sell targets are not displayed when used alone.
  • Expected & Stochastic: This mode combines both the Expected Move and Stochastic modes. A market buy occurs only if both the Lower Expected Buy Target and Stochastic Buy Level conditions are met. A limit sell is immediately placed at the target price. This mode helps manage excessive buys and conserve capital.
  • Volatility Breakout: When the volatility indicator exceeds a user-set value, a market buy happens at the Expected Move Sell Target price. A custom green price target indicator updates with the selling price. This mode is powerful for capitalizing on breakout moves but can lead to holding unwanted positions quickly.
  • Stochastic Limit Order: This option supplements the Stochastic mode, enabling the use of limit sell orders instead of market sell orders at the Stochastic Profit Target price.

Each mode adjusts how and when buys and sells are triggered, helping traders optimize for different market conditions, from managing capital efficiently to exploiting breakouts.
